Information efforts to reduce climate impact in agriculture

Farmers can implement several measures to reduce the impact on air and climate from agriculture. Informing farmers about the measures will likely increase the uptake. There are currently a number of instruments and advisory programs aimed of improving information to farmers about the measures. However, there is a lack of knowledge about farmers taking part in the advisory efforts and what climate measures they undertake.

The purpose of this project is to narrow this knowledge gap. The study compiles existing descriptions and results of information efforts and evaluates the information measures with the help of interviews of farm advisers and farmers. The results can provide a better understanding of whether, today’s information tools could be improved.

The project is commissioned by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and will be completed in the beginning of 2022.
